Siddhant Banthia, Dhruv Sunish, Mehak Jain and Rhea Verma move into Semis

CLTA, Chandigarh, January 05, 2017              – In the boys single semi finals top seed Siddhant Banthia of India defeated 8^th seed Tokla Mulada of Thailand in straight sets 6-2, 7-5. Another Indian boy Dhruv Sunish upset 5^th seed Dostanbek Tashbulatov of Kazakhstan in an easy match 6-2, 6-2. 3^rd seed Jack Draper and Sergey Fomin of Uzbekistan also moved into semis.

Siddhant Banthia will face 3^rd seed Jack Draper of Britain in the semis. In another semi final Dhruv Sunish will play Fomin Sergey.

In the girls singles top seed Mehak Jain of India blanked another Indian girl Vaidehi Chaudhary without conceding a game 6-0, 6-0. In another match Rhea Verma of India defeated Shivani Amineni 6-3, 7-6(5). 3^rd seed Thasaporn Naklo of Thailand won from Tanisha Kashyap of India in an easy match 6-1, 6-1. 4^th seed Axana Mareen of Belgium defeated 6^th seed Akanksha Bhan in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.

In boys doubles semi finals top seed Uisung Park / Hua-Chen Yu defeated CLTA trainees Calvin Golmei/Rishabh Sharda in straight sets 6-1, 6-3. Vasisht Cheruku / Jack Draper upset 2^nd seed Siddhant Banthia / Parikshit Somani in straight sets 6-2, 6-4.

In the girls doubles 4^th seed Kuan Yi Lee / Mananchaya Sawangkaew defeated Shivani Amineni / Vaidehi Chaudhary 6-3, 6-3. Adehhina Esther / Heath Gamma defeated Harsha Sai Challa / Sabhyata Nihalani 6-4, 6-3.

Matches of boys and girls will be played tomorrow from 9:30 a.m. onwards at CLTA Tennis Stadium.
