CLTA, Chandigarh, February 17, 2017               In the semi finals played today, top seed Yuki Bhambri defeated 7^th seed Sidharth Rawat in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. Sidharth Rawat broke Yuki’s serve in the opening game. After 0-1 down Yuki fought back and took the next 6 games in a row to close the set 6-1.  In the 2^nd set Yuki Bhambri played in top form and dominated from the beginning. He used his experience and closed the set and match by conceding only one game 6-1. In the another semi final N. Sriram Balaji and Hadin Bawa played a tough and consistent match.  In the 1^st set both players held their serve till 5-5. In the 11^th games Hadin Bava broke Balaji’s serve but N. Sriram Balaji fought back and broke Hadin Bawa’s serve in the 12^th games and leveled the score at 6-6. In the tie break Balaji used his experience to close the 1^st set 7-6, (4). In the 2^nd set Balaji used his big serve and with his effective volley closed the 2^nd set and match 6-4.

In the doubles final N. Vijay Sunder Prashanth/Sanam Singh 2^nd seed lifted the men’s doubles titles. N. Vijay Sunder Prashanth and Sanam were down 1-4 in the 1^st set. After 1-4 down Sanam and Vijay Sunder Prashanth came back strongly and won the 1^st set in tie break 7-6(4). In the 2^nd set Vijay Sunder Prashanth and Sanam Singh played top level tennis and closed the 2^nd set and match 6-4. Top seed Yuki Bhambri will face 2^nd seed N. Sriram Balaji in the finals tomorrow.

Singles final will be played from 10:00 a.m. onwards tomorrow. Dr. S.B. Deepak Kumar, Secretary Sports, Chandigarh Administration will be the Chief Guest.
