Smooth Sail for Sunil Kumar Sipaeya

CLTA, Chandigarh, Wednesday, October 31, 2012 Sunil Kumar Sipeaya used his experience to dominate against his hard hitting opponent Rohit Sarwate. Sunil had a one sided 6-0, 6-3 win. However top seed Tarranum Handa in women faced some resistance from Rajbir Kaur of Punjab. Tarranum won 6-4, 7-6 (3). In another Quarter Final match 3rd seed Brahmjot Singh had a tough match against Punjab’s Ankush Arora. Ankush won the 1st set 6-2. Then Brahmjot took the 2nd set 6-3. In the final set Ankush was leading 4-1. Brahmjot rallied to win the match 7-6 (5).

Wild Card Allan Gomes upset 4th seed Suraj Beniwal. Allan Gomes won 7-6 (1), 6-2. All other matches were in straight sets.

Semi-Finals singles will start at 9:00 a.m. in Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association.
