Rishabh, Sarah clinch Singles Titles

CLTA, Chandigarh, August 5, 2016                      In boys U-16 finals CLTA trainee top seed Rishabh Sharda defeated Drona Walia of Utrakhand in a marathon match. It lasted 3 hours and 12 minutes approximately in extremely hot and humid conditions. Both players played high quality level of tennis. In the 1^st set 1^st game Rishabh broke Drona’s serve and lead 2-0. Then both players held their serve and Rishabh lead 5-4. In the 10^th game Rishabh broke opponent’s serve and took the set 6-4. In the 2^nd set Rishabh was leading 5-2, after that Drona Walia came back strongly and played few big serve and powerful ground strokes from baseline, took next 7 games in a row to close the 2^nd set 7-5. In the final set Rishabh Sharda maintained his top form and played consistently, Rishabh neutralized with effective shots and made his opponent commit errors. Finally Rishabh closed the set and match 6-1.

In the girls finals 2^nd seed Sarah Dev defeated Gargi Pawar of Maharastra in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.

Mr. Jai Singh Gill, President, CLTA and Mr. Vershal Arora, the sponsor for Izda Health Care CLTA-AITA Super Series distributed the prizes to the winners and runners up.
