CLTA, Chandigarh, December 16, 2016                               In boys U-18 singles finals Shashikant Rajput of CHART defeated his practice partner Bhupender Dahiya another CHART trainee in a three setter marathon match. Shashikant won 1^st set in tie break 7-6(5). In the 2^nd set his opponent Bhupender Dahiya came back strongly and broke Shashikant’s rhythm of game to and took the set 6-2. In the final set Shashikant used his experience and variation of his ground strokes chip and charge to win the final set marginally 6-3.

In the boys U-16 singles final another CHART trainee of Haryana 4^th seed Krishan Hooda upset top seeded his practice partner Shashikant Rajput in a closely contested match both players played excellent tennis and rallied 6-7 balls in most of the important points. Finally Krishan Hooda maintained his consistency of ground strokes with quality shots to close the 1^st set 7-5. In the 2^nd set Krishan Hooda played attacking game with consistency against his opponent to close the 2^nd set and match 6-4.

In the girls U-16 singles final top seed Bhakti Shah defeated Srishti Dhir of CLTA in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.

In the girls U-18 singles final top seed Kavya Sawhney defeated Bhakti Shah in straight sets. In the 1^st set Bhakti Shah lead 4-1. But Kavya fought back strongly with aggressive ground strokes, Kavya took 5 games in a row and closed the 1^st set 6-4. In the 2^nd set Kavya maintained her attacking game with consistency and closed the set and match 6-3.

Mrs. Bhupender Banta Singh, Member Executive, CLTA distributed the prizes to the winners and finalists.
