Shrut, Rishi, Sarabjot Qualify for Main Draw

CLTA, Chandigarh, November 6, 2016                In boys U-16 singles final qualifying round top seed Shrut Mohan Nargeta of CLTA defeated Sarthak Sehrawat of Delhi in straight sets. In the 1^st set both players played very well and held their serve to make 6-6. In the tie break Shrut used his experience and played few forehands down the line winner shots to close the set 7-0 in tie break. In the 2^nd set Shrut maintained his high level of game to close the set and match without conceding a game 6-0. Another CLTA trainee 3^rd seed Rishi Jalota defeated Nithinadhith of Tamil Nadu in straight sets 6-4, 7-5.

CHART trainee Sarabjot Singh upset 10^th seed Shrenik Bhalla of CLTA in a three setter match. In the 1^st set Sarabjot lost 4-6. In the 2^nd set Sarabjot played intelligently to close the set 6-2. In the 3^rd set Sarabjot maintained his quality of game to close the set and match 6-2. Pranav Chorpa defeated Aarav Singh Gill in a three setter match 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.

In the girls U-16 singles final qualifying round top seed Smriti Singh defeated Harnoor Kaur Sidhu 6-2, 6-0. Ashpreet Kaur Bajwa, Lakshmit Gowda and Sukhmani Singh also moved into the main draw.

Main draw matches will be played from 8:30 a.m. onwards at CLTA Tennis Stadium.
